Long List of Free Directories = Free SEO

Ok, here is a compiled list of free directories that I have personally used to get the words out. I find it easier to have everything typed out already in a note pad and then copy and paste. Almost all of these directories will ask you the same exact questions.
For those not familiar, directories are websites that list other websites. Almost like a phone book or yellow pages type of thing. Many people go to directories to find things instead of search engines because they are categorized and the owners usually weed out the low quality, junk, and spam sites. USUALLY...

It also helps to build backlinks which will help your site rank higher in the major search results. It’s a win-win situation.

I have included a list of directories that you can submit to. I think there are over 600 directories there. Many of them are free to submit. Some ask for a link back to them in return. Some want a fee. I wouldn’t pay higher fees unless they have a high Internet Page Rank rating. Then it might be worth doing.

Well first of all you should provide the list with us which you forgot to add here. Also Directories are best way to build backlinks for your website but take care to add it your niche realted section. I know when I had a new site I did use a service and I was very happy to see I have many backlinks in first updates and PR goes 3 in first updates. You can find directories list anywhere.

I would find it for you and than post back here so our users can get advantage of it.

As for DMOZ, it's a good directory, but it takes a while to get listed from what I hear. I submitted my site a while ago, and I don't think it's still been accepted. Perhaps it was overlooked as it was rather new at the time. Oh well..I'll try again at a later date probably.

nice lists here, but it sucks when you submit to all of these and check back in 6 months and half of the directories have become redirected or parked domains.
